EGR Delete Kits for Ford Powerstroke, Ram Cummins, and GM Duramax
Your truck's Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system was designed to reduce emissions by routing hot exhaust gases back into the intake. In theory, that sounds fine. In practice, it means your intake manifold fills up with carbon buildup, your engine runs hotter than it should, and reliability takes a hit over time. An EGR delete kit removes that entire system from the equation.
We carry EGR delete kits for the three most popular diesel platforms on the road: Ford Powerstroke (6.4L and 6.7L), Ram Cummins (6.7L), and GM Duramax (LML, LMM, and other generations). Each kit is built specifically for your engine, so you're not working with a generic piece that kind of fits.
Why Run an EGR Delete?
Here's the thing -- the EGR system was never a performance upgrade. It was added to meet emissions standards, and the trade-off is real engine wear over time. Once you remove it, the difference shows up quickly.
The main reasons diesel owners delete their EGR:
- Cleaner intake manifold: No more exhaust soot and carbon coating the inside of your intake. Air stays cleaner, combustion runs better.
- Lower coolant temps: The EGR runs hot exhaust back through a cooler. Delete it and your cooling system works less hard.
- Better throttle response: A cleaner intake means more efficient airflow and noticeably sharper throttle.
- Fuel efficiency gains: Less heat, cleaner combustion, and a leaner workload on the engine all add up at the pump.
- Long-term reliability: EGR cooler failures are one of the most common -- and expensive -- repair bills on the 6.0L and 6.4L Powerstroke. Removing the system removes that failure point entirely.
What's Included in an EGR Delete Kit?
A complete EGR delete kit typically includes a block-off plate (or billet delete plate), all required gaskets, and any brackets or hardware needed for a clean install. Some kits also include a bypass coolant line or reroute kit for engines that run coolant through the EGR cooler.
Quality matters here. Cheap kits use thin stamped steel that warps under heat cycles. The kits we stock are billet aluminum or heavy-gauge steel -- built to handle the heat your engine throws at them, day after day.
Which EGR Delete Kit Fits My Truck?
EGR delete kits are highly specific to your truck's year, make, and model. A kit built for a 2013 6.7L Powerstroke is not the same as one for a 2016 LML Duramax. Always double-check compatibility before ordering.
Popular fitments we carry:
- Ford 6.0L Powerstroke (2003-2007) -- often combined with an EGR cooler delete
- Ford 6.4L Powerstroke (2008-2010) -- dual EGR cooler setup requires a specific kit
- Ford 6.7L Powerstroke (2011-2022) -- late-model kit with updated block-off hardware
- Ram 6.7L Cummins (2007-2021) -- straightforward kit, well-documented install
- GM 6.6L Duramax LML (2011-2016) -- includes required coolant reroute
- GM 6.6L Duramax LMM (2007.5-2010) -- bolt-on delete plate with hardware
EGR Delete and Your Tuner
An EGR delete kit handles the physical removal. Your ECU still needs to be told the system is gone -- otherwise you'll get check engine lights and fault codes. That's why most diesel owners pair an EGR delete kit with a delete tuner. The tuner reprograms the ECU to disable all EGR-related monitoring so everything runs clean with no warning lights.
If you need a tuner to go with your kit, check out our DPF Delete Tuners collection. And if you want the whole setup done at once, our Full Delete Bundles include the EGR delete kit, a DPF delete pipe, and a tuner together.
The Bottom Line
An EGR delete kit is one of the highest-return reliability upgrades you can make on a diesel truck. Less heat, less carbon buildup, and one less expensive failure point to worry about. If your truck is already out of warranty and you're planning a full delete, the EGR kit is the piece you don't skip.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a tuner with an EGR delete kit?
Yes. The delete kit handles the physical block-off, but your ECU still monitors the EGR system and will throw fault codes if nothing tells it the hardware is gone. A delete tuner reprograms the ECU to stop looking for the EGR, which clears the check engine lights and prevents limp mode. Most diesel owners grab the kit and tuner together -- or just order a full delete bundle.
Will an EGR delete actually improve my fuel economy?
For most trucks, yes. The EGR system routes hot, dirty exhaust back into the intake, which hurts combustion efficiency. Remove it and your engine pulls in clean air, runs cooler, and doesn't have to work as hard. The gains vary by truck and tune, but most owners report a noticeable improvement at the pump -- especially when towing or running heavy loads.
How hard is the install? Can I do it myself?
On most platforms it's a straightforward bolt-on job. The 6.7L Cummins and older Duramax setups are pretty clean -- remove the EGR components, bolt in the block-off plate, swap in the new gaskets, done. The 6.4L Powerstroke takes a bit more work due to the dual cooler setup, but it's still within reach for a competent DIYer with basic hand tools. Each kit comes with the hardware you need for a clean install.
Is the EGR delete kit specific to my engine year?
Yes, and this matters. A kit built for a 2010 6.4L Powerstroke won't fit a 2015 6.7L Powerstroke. The port sizes, cooler configurations, and block-off hardware are all different across model years. Double-check the fitment on the product page, or shoot us a message with your year and engine and we'll make sure you're ordering the right one.
What happens if I run an EGR delete without a tune?
Your truck will throw DTC codes immediately. The ECU expects to see data from the EGR valve and differential pressure sensors -- when those signals disappear, it triggers fault codes and can put the truck into reduced-power mode. You don't want to run it that way. Pair the delete kit with a tuner from the start so the ECU runs clean from day one.
Can I delete just the EGR and leave the DPF in place?
Yes, you can delete the EGR without touching the DPF. Plenty of guys do it, especially if the DPF is still in decent shape and they're not ready for a full delete. You'll still need a tuner to handle the EGR-related codes. That said, most owners end up deleting both eventually -- the DPF causes its own set of headaches with regen cycles and backpressure, so doing the full delete at once is usually the cleaner move.
Will an EGR delete void my truck's warranty?
If your truck is still under factory warranty, yes -- any emissions modification can affect warranty coverage. Most diesel owners doing EGR deletes are past that window anyway, but worth knowing where you stand before you start. Once you're out of warranty, the EGR delete is one of the best reliability investments you can make on a high-mileage diesel.
